Setup using NDPS

The AXIS 1620 supports Novell Distributed Print Services (NDPS),

which is Novell’s new generation architecture for printing and printer

administration. You can run NDPS over Pure IP (TCP/IP) or

IPX/SPX.

Before the AXIS 1620 can be installed, make sure that NDPS and an

NDPS gateway are installed on your NetWare file server.

AXIS 1620 supports the AXIS NDPS Gateway for printing in

networks using the IPX transport protocol, while the Novell NDPS

Gateway must be used for printing in IP networks. The printer

gateways are included with the NDPS software and are automatically

installed together with NDPS.

Notes: ❏ NDPS requires that you run NetWare 4.11 or higher.

❏ Pure IP is only supported by NetWare 5 or higher.
